I've had enough of fantasizing and reading trip reports on this forum... specially TRs by QF009 :p.
So I have decided to embark on a trip with the other half to Paris and back using points + purchased tix (if needed).

Our points balances stand as follows

AA - 60k each
BMI - 34k, 25k for the missus
SQ - 60k

J AAward syd-xsin-cdg will clean out our AA points.

Coming back to oz, we want a stop over in India and if possible sample SQ F on the way back to sydney.

1. bmi z2-z8 @ 18500 in J (zrh-bom-bkk-hkg) & z8-z9 @ 18500 in J or 31250 in F (hkg-sin-syd)

2. cheapie J cash tix from europe to asia + side trip to india and then use bmi points from asia to oz.

any feedback & suggestions on good deals from europe to asia and/or better ways to utilise the points, is greatly appreciated.

1. your z2-8 routing is stretching it a bit, but in ICC-land who knows. And ZRH is in z1, not z2. You'd need an extra segment from Italy or ARN/CPH.

z1:
UK, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland
z2:
Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Moldavia, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain (including Balearics), Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Yugoslavia

There's also a rumour going around on SQTalk that SQ is relenting and allowing Saver awards, which by implication also means *A awards on its 77Ws and A380s. By all means go ahead and book the SQ flights, but I'd keep scanning the ANA tool for availability on the A380/77W; costs only GBP20 per person to switch over.

not sure if I have enough points to do it all they way from europe to oz.
Buying points is an option but it will cost around 600 GBP (points + cash + taxes).

For 600 quid is it possible to grab a cheapie J deal to asia for a quick MR or am I dreaming...

Good luck trying to get SQ F to SYD.

It's really not that hard on the 744. I've always gotten SQ F on my desired dates, and only had to vary my travel dates once. But I note that the OP is trying to redeem 2 seats - SQ releases seats in F one at a time so this will necessiate separate bookings; often (but not always) the 2nd F seat will pop up on the ANA availability tool as soon as you've booked the 1st one.

And remember - if you do C on the longer segment (SIN-SYD), you can throw in F on the shorter segment (HKG-SIN) for the cost of a C redemption. :)
