OW options for MEL -> CGK

Looking for cheapest way to fly MEL-CGK with OW in mid April, with the aim to still earn some FF points at SC's. Am a QF WP, was looking at QF, but is $1500 return.

CX does MEL-HKG-CGK-HKG-MEL for the roughly the same price as QF MEL-SYD-CGK-SIN-MEL. I think I've seen some fares for about $400 cheaper than anything I can find on OW.

Any ideas? Was hoping to at least have the long haul flight on QF metal so I could attempt to burn some FF points on an upgrade.

QF seems to be returning fares of about $1050 to me for MEL-CGK via SYD.

Must of been the dates I was looking, leaving 10th, coming back 14th.

Just a question.... can you book a mixed economy/star class itinerary via the QF call centre? Say I wanted the following:

MEL - SIN: JQ in Y on Jetplus fare
SIN - CGK - SIN: Valuair in Y
SIN - MEL: JQ in J

Possibly through the QF Platinum desk?
