Hi All,

I thought I knew the answer to these, but now reading a few articles has me doubting my "fat 'No' across the board" answer. I wonder if anyone has practical experience ... ??

Potential to buy an AY J MEL-UK return which includes an AY codeshare on JQ MEL-SIN. Apologies for that not being a QF specific question but thought - as this is an Oz-commencing scenario - there may be more "in the know" here than elsewhere and definitely didn't want to cross-post.

1. Baggage Allowance.

My assumption is that JQ's J allowance holds however:

As this is ticketed by AY and both airlines are IATA, does the MSC (AY rule) apply since AY is the first carrier cross-zones?

If the AY allowance is recognised does JQ also recognise OW status additional baggage allowance?

If the AY allowance is not recognised how is additional baggage purchased on an AY ticket?

2. Onward Boarding Passes

Can JQ issue onward AY boarding passes at MEL check-in?

If not, is it possible to pick these up from a transit desk at SIN T4 to be able to use the airside bus transfer?

Regards,

BD

I can't answer your questions unfortunately, but am curious if the JQ codeshare is a limitation of the AY fare? Or is QF also allowed, but no inventory on the day you need to fly?

Good question - and one I've asked my TA.

In the meantime I'm weighing up this option versus others (non-AY ticketed) the TA has provided.
