Hi

Looking at flying BNE to Frankfurt then Paris to BNE on SIA Business class. I know I have extra weight allowance as a Gold Velocity member, but my question is around the physical size of the checked bags.. hoping to just have 1 bag as getting the TGV from Frankfurt to Paris and don't want to lug around 2 suitcases and backpack..

The SIA website states that "Sum of length, width, height of each piece not exceeding 158cm" is allowed, yet many of the larger suitcases seem larger than this.. eg 80.8 x 52.3 x 37.5 total = 170.6cm

After my last trip to Vegas with summer gear plus suit I just managed to squeeze into a total bag size of 155 cm.. so with Frankfurt and then Paris being much cooler, plus a longer trip, pretty sure the old suitcase will be large enough.

So will SIA even check the bag size, will they knock me back on the other side of the globe.. or will they maybe just charge extra due to oversize bag? any experiences or advice??

Cheers
Steve
