Goat sacrifice fixes aircraft woes

Two goats have been sacrificed by Nepal Airlines officials in a bid to fix problems on one of their aircraft.

The sacrifice was carried out to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757 aircraft, a Times of India report said.

The goats were sacrificed in front of the troublesome aircraft on Sunday at Nepal's only international airport in Kathmandu in accordance with Hindu traditions, an official said.

The problem had forced the suspension of some services in recent weeks.

Although the exact nature of the problem was not revealed, officials said that following the sacrifice the plane was fixed and had resumed flying.

Very reassuring . - Travelpress travel news

Maybe that was something Qantas should have tried with VH-TAA A300, it was a lemon which they managed to shift to Air New Guinea. TAA became an abbreviation for try another aircraft as a rsult of this shocker of a chassis!

Whilst no doubting that these sacrifices are beneficial - the problem arises when you fly another aircraft and find it has not been subject to a sacrifice. Sweaty palms, I guess.....

I was on the last passanger flight by Qantas for VH-TAA, there was some bubbly served if i remember correctly and an actual announcment over the PA by the pilot that is was the last flight and a bit of history about TAA.
