As to the price of meals the Marriott is cheaper than the IC for food by about 10%.However having Plat status here means 20% of food and beverage as well as the no brainer of the full buffet breakfast for 4 mornings instead of 1000 bonvoy points.

So that leads to our first breakfast.A reasonably large restaurant but still a zoo as the only place for breakfast and it is a big resort.Buffet is reasonable with both Asian and Indian dishes available as well as the western staples.A few shots of the buffet.

The restaurant juts out over the lagoon. There were a few fish swimming around.

Back to our room for a bit of post prandial resting then had a dip in the ocean.noted quite a few fish swimming around. The day was reasonably cool although the water was warm. Then just took in the view.

Watched the planes.
1576716770752.jpeg.1576716788754.jpeg.

Then a bit before 5 went to the Fish Bar for a late lunch.A prawn salad for mrsdrron and a Momi Bay fish and chips for me.Both good.

We then took a bucket of ice back to the room for drinkies at sunset.

I agree - I HATE buffets . And this one is crazy - huge and messy. Kids throwing food on the floor messy !
And the restaurant looks over the over water bungalows ( actually two restaurants over look the over water bungalows as well as reception and a bar !! So NO privacy there )

RB that offer isn't for the Overwater bungalows or even the Lagoon view bures you can see in their pics.It is fr the 2 story blocks of hotel rooms that overlook a lagoon that doesn't have fish in it as it is a dam basically.None of these are in the the promotional shots. The cheapest package seems to be only for Sunday and Friday departures in Feb and March.
Checking the Marriott website you can get these rooms prepaid with breakfast for a little over $F600 cheaper which would be the spending money and spa so basically getting the airfare for nix.
I will take some shots of those rooms and breakfast mayhem tomorrow.

So our second full day at the resort we took some bread rolls from brekkie and once again went into the ocean. This is a real fish feeding experience and totally free.

So the next day we brought several bread rolls back from brekkie. We went out and sat down in the water. No photos as I didn't bring my underwater camera. But it was priceless.fish swimming through your legs. The little ones began eating the dead skin from my feet-a spa treatment that is complimentary. Not as good though when a plate size fellow had a bit of a nip.Made the stay one to remember though.
Our bure from the sea.

And looking out past the Fish Bar.

For dinner we went to the Lagoon bar which is Italian inspired. It is open air and has nice views.

1577158309530.jpeg.1577158326869.jpeg.

A Sav blanc for mrsdrron and a Vonu for me.
1577158371930.jpeg.

Mrsdrron had a lobster linguine and I beef cheeks. Both pretty nice and not expensive.
1577158448904.jpeg.1577158465434.jpeg.

Back to our bure and sunset was a non event with a huge dark cloud and rain. But a couple of shots befor that.

The next day was pretty ordinary.Cloudy with strong winds whipping up the sea so the fish weren't too interested in being fed.Plus it was unpleasant and an afternoon storm.
Fortunately stopped for dinner. We had decided to go to the Fish Bar and catch the sunset.but when i went for a booking was told it had to be 1730 or 2030.Less than impressed that when we arrived at 1735 only 1 other couple there.3 groups arrived between 1815-1830 and obviously 2 did not have bookings but where seated-they both asked to move to a better table but were told those were booked tables.

1577158909814.jpeg.1577158925287.jpeg.

1577158959661.jpeg.

Given an amusee bouche of waygu beef.
1577159034440.jpeg.
We both had entrees.mrsdrron the lobster and I the Kokoda-not the usual.
1577159104924.jpeg.1577159120799.jpeg.

1577159147438.jpeg.

For mains mrsdrron had a mushroom risotto with just a few bits of mushroom and I ha had the walu fillet.
1577159238184.jpeg.1577159256389.jpeg.

Was OK but not really a fine dining experience.

So our last morning at Momi Bay.The tide was really low.
1577160063675.jpeg.1577160080634.jpeg.

For interest here are the entry level rooms on the water but not the lagoon which has an opening to the sea.
1577160151900.jpeg.1577160169441.jpeg.

1577160191414.jpeg.

And some more of Goji the breakfast restaurant.
