Some seriously mediocre golf. the might fighting Hawks and the 11sjw clan!

My other passion, besides anything to do with travel, is knitting. I mostly knit beanies, scarves and blankets and also clothing for my two small grandchildren. The experimental and stash busting beanies go to the men's homeless shelter in Fremantle. The others are for family and friends and also my daughter's friends.

Animals. Would love to find some volunteer work or talk my other half into fostering dogs from the SPCA waiting to be homed. Sports NFL, NBA, tennis, would like to learn how to play the piano but should probably get one first. Love houses, interior design would be cool. But I just surf the houzz app. Downloaded the chief architect app but it's quite funny how ideas in your head don't really translate into practical layouts. Used to want to be an architect but thought I stunk at tech drawing.....I think I still do! I love the hunt for a good wine or a great coughtail. Skiing. Cooking when I've got time and can have a wine. The usual family friends.

My other passion is recreational astronomy. I own 12 telescopes and 40 or so pairs of binoculars.

It's actually pretty much the same thing as travelling.
When I travel I see things on this planet thousands of kilometers away.

With the telescopes I see -
Planets millions of kilometers away,
Open clusters, bright stars and nebula which can be up to hundreds of light years away,
Globular clusters and dwarf galaxies tens of thousands of light years away,
Galaxies which are millions of light years away,
and I have seen the bightest Qasar which is 2.4 billion light years away.

Not much difference between the travel and astronomy really. Though with travel I can also see the northern sky with the telescope and binoculars that I keep in Italy.
Cheers,
Renato

Most of my recreation time is spend creating kiln-formed glass art or experimenting with "warm" glass techniques. There are a range of techniques which use kilns as the basic tool for combining and forming glass objects. Australia has been a leader in this area due to the presence of Klaus Moje at the Canberra Glass School and his collaboration with Bullseye Glass (Portland Oregon) to produce compatible glass for fusing. So now ask me where my next trip is to....leaving on 11/8 for a week's classes in Portland.

Mine is visiting traditional private members clubs (most are still single-sex, some are open to both now). I make a point of using reciprocal clubs when I travel, both interstate and overseas. I make use of clubs for accommodation, entertainment, or both.

My favourites are the Melbourne Club, the Cosmos Club in Washington DC and the Garrick Club in London.

This means I'll never have one of those hotel programme membership thingys at the bottom of my account details to the left ;)

My other passion is golf.

And once or twice a round I can be brilliant. Only takes one shot to bring you back next week.
