I'm hoping and guessing this is a no-brainer, but haven't been in the situation before, so just checking.
I've joined AAdvantage (after some prodding from elsewhere
) and as I've already re-qualified for QFF Plat, I'd like to put the remainder of my current Pacific trip onto the AA account, rather than QFF. Therefore my CX and MH BPs will have no status on them.
Is there any doubt that I will be able to access non QF Flounges (or equivalent) - in HKG, SIN and KUL using the zero status BP and my QFF 1W Emerald card?
I've heard of checking-in under 1 scheme (say, QFF) then getting the FF scheme changed in the lounge (say, to AA), where I would be (more) certain of the best of both worlds. Does this work routinely, or more of a 'sometimes, depending on the lounge agent' thing?
