Each of my family members have a QF FF account. My wife and daughter have 1600 points each soon to expire. But the min family transfer amount is 5000 points.

Is it possible for me to transfer 5000 to each of them, and then transfer 6600 back to my account (which is the account we consolidate into)? That way we rescue their soon to expire points - albeit 1600 is not all that much/

Yes you can. I do this maybe once a year so as not to loose any points. Just remember that your transfer of 5000 points out of your account is counted as part of the 600,000 that you can transfer in a single year.
