I am travelling on AA244 from Orlando to LAX and then on QF12 from LAX to Sydney. I am traveling with children so I am concerned about what terminal I will arrive at and how far is it to the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Is this a difficult procedure with 3 children to keep together?

You will arrive at T4 in LAX. It is about a 50 metre walk landside to Tom Bradley, or you can take the airside transfer bus. It is not a difficult procedure.

As Will said, about 50 m and an easy walk... assuming the kids are up for it!

I would take the bus as it would mean you wouldn't need to go through security again (which can be a challenge with kids, yes I have some)

I'd also agree that with children taking the bus is the easier option.

Going through security is potentially a big hassle.

Arriving at Terminal 4, LAX you should look for gate 44 where there should be a sign 'bus for American Eagle flights and Tom Bradley Int Terminal' (I vaguely remember it does mention 'Qantas' but cannot be 100%).

See the map here (http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/airport-guide-los-angeles/global/en)

These are often the moments when my 3 year old suddenly loses the use of his legs and becomes a 17kg backpack to be carried with everything else.

Happened last week in Sydney too though to add to the fun I had been forced to bring his ukelale along as well. Chiropractor is making a fortune..
