So I'm currently atLAX after flying MEL-SYD-NAN-LAX awaiting AA connection to Austin.

Initially I booked LAX-DFW-AUS, and of course checked in at MEL for the whole lot with Qantas desk. Arrived at LAX at 13, with Dallas flight booked for 1655 to ensure ample connection time. At 1500 I notice that all Dallas flights have been delayed at least an hour due to weather there. So I go to the AA desk to check, and while standing in a long queue overhear lots of others having problems with Dallas connections.
Manyway, the AAngel moved me to the LAX-AUS direct, otherwise I would have ha to overnight in Dallas since my Autin connection I was supposed to fly was the last of the day.

How do I claim ORC? LAX-AUS is 120 SC, the same as LAX-DFW but it means missing an extra 60 SC for DFW-AUS. It also means less points, too. Who do I contact for the ORC?

Ring Qantas Frequent Flyer and have your details handy!
1 (800) 227 4220~in the US.

If you give FF a call they should be able to put a claim through... you could also try emailing them and attaching the original PNR information detailing your original routing. :)

EDIT: Sorry, you must have written your reply as I was writing mine! :)

Email them: frequent_flyer at qantas.com.au with the relevant details and a copy of your e-ticket/itinerary or a copy of your LAX-DFW-AUS BPs.
In my experience it gets sorted out pretty quickly (within a day); other reports from here are consistent with mine.

Is there a limit on attachments? When I email (usually from my gmail account) the email always seems to bounce.

Also is that US QFF number 24hrs?

P.S. Why have none of my QF/FJ flights on the 8th posted to my QFF account yet? I thought QF was normally instant.

As indicated, don't use the web site's "email", use [email protected]

Also, wait a few days until the LAX-AUS (or whatever) flights post before doing so.

Qantas flight postings appear to have become more tardy of late.

That address bounced for me when I tried to email a claim for points on MU with boarding passes attached, but I will try again anyway and let you know how I go - I will claim after the flights post as you suggest.

I fly again on the 12th and am hoping it will all have gone through so I can use my first-time SG qualification to access ACs in AUS and DFW enroute to the East Coast.

I thought there was no access to AC for SG on domestic AA flights.

There certainly is ... SG is oneworld sapphire - See here:

oneworld lounge access for frequent flyers by tier status

On AAdvantage Sapphires/Emeralds on North American Itineraries generally have no access rights to A/C without actual separate Admirals Club Membership.

Ah must've mistaken AAdvantage status benefits then. Cheers for the info.
Slightly looking more forward to my trips to North America this year then.

The big issue will be trying to convince the AAngels of your newly minted Gold status without a OWS card to back your claim.

ISTR someone saying that the AA system will only show the ff tier you were at the time of booking even if you go up a level mid-journey.

I don't know whether showing them a screen shot of your QF ff profile will cut it as they always like to see the actual card itself which could be so they can swipe it then oncharge your visit to the relevant carrier.

I was under the impression that going up a level mid-trip without your relevant FF card was not really an issue as far as gaining lounge access.
The usual suggestion is to get the AAngel to remove your FF number from the booking then add it again and your new status will appear.
I did that from SG to WP and had it done in the ORD F/L without any problem.
I only got the idea after reading of several accounts here where people did just that and had access as usual.

The risk is that if it doesn't process in time (on QFF's end) then no AA staff member will be able to give you benefits of status that you don't have (at the time).
In your email to QFF just ask them to expedite the process because your upcoming flights are soon and you want to take advantage of those benefits.
I think I did that in my email at the time...

My AA flight and QF flights credited in just over 24 hours, but my FJ flight is still missing so I am still short of SG which is annoying. Hopefully its there by Sat morning Texas time!

My FJ flight(On QF codeshare) back in December, took 3 days from flight til posting on QFF.

My FJ flight on a QF code SYD-NAN posted in about 36hrs, but the FJ flight on FJ code LAX-NAN is still not there. Fingers crossed.

E-mailed re original routing credit - will I get a reply or will I just have to keep checking the account to see if its been modified?

Out of my past 5-6 emails to frequent flyer to get missing points, only 2 of them I got calls back for, the other 4 I didn't get any phone call/or email reply, just checked my FF account and they had been credited.
Good luck! Let us know how you go.
