A few AFF members have had their flights delayed ex SIN, this is because of OQD going tech at LHR after being hit by a ground vehicle with significant engine cowling damage as a result.

This would not of happend if LHR Ramp Crew were that are employed in LHR by a British company were trained in Australia and paid the same rates and conditions as Australian Ramp Crew. Shame on the London Heathrow Airpor Authority for outsourcing their labour to non Australians.

cue the media... blaming QANTAS for having a stationary a/c 'get in the way' of a moving ground vehicle and then linking this incident to the QF32 engine incident!!

Got a reference for this incident?

If it's the engine cowling that's been damaged then the aircraft is probably staying on the ground for a significantly long time. I wonder what kind of ground vehicle hit the plane, and for goodness sakes, how? Hitting the engine isn't conducive to most good endings...

I drove around on the tarmac for five years in BRU and it is unbelievable how bad people drive there, I am amazed that there weren't any major accidents... What happened to the pax?
