Optus $99/Mth Sim Only Plan - 60,000 Qf Pts

Maths may not be my strongest point... but aren't both of those options exactly the same?
Yes, but if you choose the 7 day for $35 you are charged that as soon as you activate it. You may not need it every day over the next 7 days so if you just activate by 24 hour periods when needed you may pay less overall.

The Optus page says the offer is only available at qantas.com/optus but (a) the Qantas page doesn't have the $99 offer and (b) the Optus page does allow you to select the offer. What gives?

My SIM card also arrived today (only took one day to arrive after being sent from Sydney). It activated automatically around 90 minutes after I put it in my phone (I did have to restart my phone to get it working).

No issues so far...

hmmm… so it has to be purchased AND activated by 17 july according to the offer? I signed up yesterday but they ‘need more info’… so unlikely to get the card by the weekend maybe. Should I cancel the order if they call? (complications that my phone does not support esim, and i will not be at home to sign for the order, so it would go to austpost, which may not mean pick up in time for the 17th)

The T&Cs do say it needs to be activated by 17 July.

$99 Qantas Promo Plan Offer: : Available for Qantas Frequent Flyer members who are new or existing Optus customers adding and activating a $99 Qantas Promo Plan between 7 July to 17 July 2022. Points are awarded to your account in a single instalment at the end of month 3 from your service activation date. Points are forfeited if you cancel or recontract from your Promo Plan during that period. You must be an active QFF member at the time of points being awarded. N/A with other offers.

Ordered physical sim 9/7
Couple of emails over the next few days saying all is good, order progressing etc
12/7 get early text confirming sim will be delivered today and I must sign for it.
12/7 2pm doorbell rings. Open door and package on ground, no sign of driver. Go inside and put sim in spare phone. 4pm get text saying service is active, check phone right after and indeed it is.
So far so good. Will be interesting to see exactly when the points hit our accounts.

I’m in a similar situation only that I will be away when the sim would be delivered and need my Telstra coverage until I return. Was told to call back Thursday so the sim will be delivered when I am at home Monday. I asked a couple of times and was assured I would still receive the bonus points. Whether that happens remains to be seen but I will be kicking up a stink if it doesn’t.

I’ll confirm again re: the bonus when I call back. Might ask a supervisor to confirm as well.

Ok so the sim arrived today, it was not clear that it will be activated 4 hours after delivery...
I called and spoke to 3 different people who all said that I had to call QANTAS!!
LOL
Absolute mess, I will be cancelling once the points hit my QFF account...
Looking at their support page it did say it would automatically update within 4 hours. It wasn't clear what to do when the package arrived though.

You don't have to sign for the delivery. They left mine at the front door, rang bell and left before I could open door. The SIM was automatically activated.

Decided to just go the e-sim route. Called back sorted it out this afternoon. Will be no issues activating by the 17th now.

Optus is damn farcical
11 June make order and receive email with temp order number
12 June receive email they need to speak about my order. That's fine as I was expecting that.
Call them and get an order ID and have to send documents to verify ID. Told to give them 24 hours before calling to follow up. Send them documents straight away as requested.
13 June call them @4pm and on phone for 25mins. Asks if I send documents & when.
Then get another email from Optus (with the temporary order number) saying to call them as they need to speak to me about my order.
Call at 5pm and speak to someone who asks if/when I sent docs requested & tells me he will followup with backoffice and to give them another 24hours. BS I'm calling again first thing in the morning and getting a damn supervisor.
What an F*&#ing joke optus is.

Right. I ordered Sunday night, got phone call about 4pm Monday to verify things. Credit check approved instantly then email with instructions on how to install and activate eSIM arrived 5 minutes later. Activated in a couple of minutes.
