I may be needing to go to Toronto next June. I'm likely to be dropped to SG with QF by then, unless comped at WP.

Am considering CX in premium via HKG, avoiding US immigration. There are of course the options via LAX/DFW. There is also a more exotic option through BOM/DEL with Jet Airways through Brussels also, but this is a very long trip!

What do others consider?

I know it involves US immigration, but I would probably fly via DFW. I think it's the most direct route and QF7/8 is a good flight.

CX is a pretty good option too.

Otherwise, are QF going to be flying to Vancouver again that time of year? You could fly direct to YVR and connect to something like Westjet on a QF code.

We've done several Australia to Canada and USA via DXB on EK. Long way round but given great circle routes, not as long as you may think. You can do one stop to YYZ with limos both ends in J/F.

Not a QF codeshare route unfortunately but saves the hassle of US immigration queues.

Another option maybe ANZ via AKL and YVR then on to YYZ with Air Canada. We've done that a few years ago with stop in Vancouver and was ok. AC planes were a bit old though.

There's always Air Canada from SYD or Korean Air and other options as well including CX as mentioned.

Isolated in Perth, I always fly CX from Perth - HK and directly to Toronto, it is simple good airline and 1 connection

As Mattg says, Qantas is likely to be flying direct to YVR in June, and then connect to WS (QF code share) to YYZ. That would be my first choice (although no lounges with WS) by some margin.

My second choice would by to go QF via DFW or SFO. US customs and immigration isn't as bad as it used to be. Onwards flights on American.

My own third choice would be Air Canada to YVR and connect onto YYZ, but I think you are looking for OneWorld / QF earn, so my third choice would then probably be EK via DXB. Never done it, but would be interesting, although if you are in Y it might be a bit of a tight squeeze. In fact thinking about it, unless you could go J, I wouldn't think of this option! Then CX via HKG.
