Hey everyone,

I have heard of people (WP1 and maybe WP?) having success getting an extra award seat opened when online was showing nothing available...

Online is showing availability for a one way classic award (LAX-PER), but there is nothing available for the outbound leg (PER-LAX or even SYD-LAX) Flight has to be on April 13, 2013.

Is it worthwhile having my dad (WP+) call up and see if they can do anything for him for the outbound leg? We need 3 seats...

Does he need to talk to international bookings? Or ask to speak to someone else?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

cheers gogo

Yes. He can ring the premium desk and request for award seats to be released. The worst that will happen is the request will be declined and you are in the same situation as before.

Does he just select the option to talk to International flight sales? Or to talk to QFF?

QFF. Over the past few years I've had a pretty good success rate - more successes than failures, although you need to be flexible with SYD-LAX - that's a tough one (plenty of options though - MEL, BNE, AKL etc...)

Cheers
Febs.

Dad has booked J return for himself and mum during the Olympic sale.. He said we have to fly on exact same flights no exception.. He will pay for the three of us one way.. And points back if they can't open anything up.. Unfortunately his priority is not using the least amount of points.. ;) I have tried hard to convince him to route the three kids via MEL or BNE as the points savings on JASA are huge and there is availability... Anyway.. He earnt the points and is paying everything else.. Will post after he has called tomorrow..

I've requested as WP+ & plain vanilla WP......never had one request approved. Tried about half a dozen times over the past few years.
