Australian man checks in single can of beer on flight | The Independent

A solitary can of lager spent the weekend making its way around an airport baggage carousel after an Australian passenger checked it in as luggage on a flight.

The man in question checked it for Qantas flight QF777 from Melbourne Airport on Saturday, reported Unilad.

Known only as “Dean”, the maverick flyer opted for a can of Emu Export lager, a Western Australian brand.

OT; Oh dear, I hope cough doesnt make the Mod's "banned list", then the Mary Whitehouse" brigade really has taken over! Then carp will be banned because it sounds like cough which is a replacement for ......!

Funny thing with this word is I introduced it to my very good French friend, to his say it in his beautiful french language is both funny and sad in a way. How us Aussies just love destroying the English language.

This has to be one of those 'only in Australia' things :)

Maybe I should try this on my trip to HK?

Are there any risks associated with not wrapping the beer can?.

Thirsty baggage handlers?
Unless inside the can there is no way to add padding such as Mary Jane:cool:

I wonder if this will pass through QF bag drop

Actually this makes sense! Of all the gallons of scotch, tequila, beer etc in my bags over the years the only things that have bust or open have been cans! The Al is that thin now it doesn't take much the pierce. My son was into Coca cola collecting there for a while and the amount cans that busted was to a point i only collected the glass ones for him. (years later he told me he never liked collecting them!)
