Online check in for NZ flight but booked through VA

Hi,

My brother is flying to Auckland from Melbourne on Wednesday and wants to check in online but we are unsure if it is possible, If it is how does he do it as the booking Ref is not accepted on the NZ website.

Cant check in online, best he can do is ring Air NZ for a seat selection.

NZ now has online check-in / moblie check-in for all flights see Online Check-in - Check-In & Immigration - Air New Zealand - New Zealand Site

He will need to call Virgin and ask them for the Air New Zealand booking reference (this is not the same as the one issued by VA on the e-ticket, this reference will end with an H). Once he has done that he can go online and check-in
