I'm trying to get from MEL-MRU return with OneWorld with a budget of $4000-$4500 with most status credits available.
My plan is:
QANTAS
MEL-SYD Business
SYD-JNB Premium Economy

British Airways (Comair)
JNB-MRU Business

This can net 400 Status Credits

I can't think of any other options. If anyone has any idea I'D LOVE SOME ADVICE

Thanks

Emirates flies there, but it doesn't appear there's a codeshare... you would earn points on an EK number though, I think.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

With a budget of $4000 I'd be looking at buying AA points or something and trying to get there in J or F all the way, for likely less than what you want to pay cash for.

Hopefully you have really flexible travel dates as that BA flight to MRU only operates once a week in both directions. I flew to MRU on a fraction of your budget and ended up on a MH codeshare out of KUL on Air Mauritius but I realise that won't earn you status credits.
