I've struggled to find an answer for this online or in the oneworld clue sheet, and I was wondering if anyone here knows. Maybe this is common knowledge to how these terms are defined that I just don't know.

I currently have a DGLOB34 booked for March, and I'm looking to make some changes to it. My travel agent won't be on until after the weekend, but I was hoping to send a set of valid flights through to her so we can get this changed quickly.

Does anyone know if transits in the same city count as a Surface Sector? I'm looking at examples like HND-NRT, JFK-LGA, and LHR-LCY. For instance, if I flew HND-JFK + LGA-DCA with a 4 hour layover in the middle, is that 2 sectors or 3 sectors towards my 16 sector limit in a Global Explorer?

Similarly, if I fly JFK-LHR, have a multi-day stopover in London, then leave LCY-AMS, is that 2 or 3 sectors?

Thanks :)

HND-JFK, LGA-DCA is three segments towards the 16 segment limit.

JFK-LHR, LCY-AMS is also three segments.
