Hi all,
Myself and family (wife + 2) are looking at a trip to Japan in January 2023 with another family, so 8 total.
Ideally I'd like to do Qantas/OneWorld, duration of trip is approx 2 weeks. Looking at either departing BNE or CNS.
One person travelling isn't good on long haul so want to minimise trip time where possible.

Qantas has some flights to Tokyo direct from BNE, and Jetstar have direct from CNS I believe. Jetstar could possibly afford business? Just looking for people thoughts or other ways to break this up to make it a good trip?

CNS to NRT or KIX will definitely be the shortest segment you can do at 7h25, BNE-HND is blocked at 9h25. There isn't really a way to go that shorten the longest segment. (CNS-POM-MNL-NRT is doable in theory but a lot of hassles to shave that longest segment by a couple of hours)

I don't think there's a practical way to shorten a Cairns to Tokyo leg.

Even if you were to stop somewhere in between like Manila, you're still looking at 8hrs BNE to MNL. And that wouldn't be oneworld anyway.

Thanks guys, seems CNS to NRT will be the go.
