i want to fly from hobart to berlin then shanghai back to hobart in december, however, when i try to book this on oneworld or qantas it does not accept it. what am i doing wrong?

Helena: Welcome to the forum
OneWorld is a marketing organization, You cannot book flights, apart from some round the world [RTW] air fares. These have a lot conditions & rules

As for Qantas on line you can only book where they have flights or code shares with other airlines. You are better to phone them. Or try a travel agent

Jetabroad can do it. I did a sample booking and it gave options with Qantas and Finnair for AU$2600 all up in December.

There are no direct OW flights from Berlin to Shanghai, you would need to go via London or Helsinki.

Hmm.. I read that as a huge Open Jaw... (HBA-TXL? then PVG-HBA) which if true is likely the problem???
