If they neglected to apply a change fee just accept it as a win - and for goodness sake don't post about it.

Not sure if your post is a troll or passive aggressive (or both) post, but as has been mentioned / implied, I'm fully aware and prepared to have the change fees applied.

I agreed to it over the phone and they'd have the recordings, therefore I'd not have a leg to stand on if I wanted to dispute.

If it's not charged, then great!

Thanks to the helpful posts, moving onto the next topic / case.

Neither a troll nor passive aggressive - just a plea that when someone gets a win, they are possibly not the only person in the history of the world to get that win - and posting about it on a public forum is a damn good way to get a loophole closed. Would you want to be the person who had done that?

I won't be contacting anymore - my 100+ calls just for this one itinerary is enough.

That is of course, unless I can upgrade my PE leg from London to Singapore to Business if any new seats pop up between now and October - at this rate its very low as not even many Economy reward seats are available.

I'm also not prepared to transit via India (or anywhere on the subcontinent) / Emirates (due to no OWA capping) to gain business class either.

Ah yes, I remember that stipulation. Your loss as the BA and QF routes through DEL are the perfect length and, as an alternative, the food in the lounge in CMB is fantastic.

Singapore will be a stop instead of a stopover, so Delhi or Colombo (or anything in that region) to Melbourne isn't an option / consideration.

There's pretty much zero (full) business options otherwise from London to Singapore at the end of October - unless I can't see them due to my Bronze status.

I've tried searching for London to Singapore (as 2 separate legs and not married) via many European cities, Hong Kong, Tokyo without any results for business.

Can anyone tell me the best way to search for a classic reward Y/W one way trip from Europe to Perth around July/ August next year. I'm trying LHR to PER and nothing comes up at all. Willing to leave from another country in EU if needed.

So today I called up to request release of some J seats MEL-HKG on QF. I was able to get 2 seats released, however I am travelling as a party of 3. The consultant (Hobart) suggested splitting the PNR into 2 seperate PNRs with 2 pax on one and 1 on the other. She then booked the 2 J seats against the first PNR, whilst booking a Y seat for the 3rd pax on the now seperate PNR (with hope that an additional J seat will become available later and I can then get 3rd pax into J)

Question is, will I run into any issues now that I have 2 PNRs to manage ? (Noting I still have more flights to add once they become available)

Not that I can’t think of. Just if you have changes or cancellations you will need to be on top of both bookings.

The other thing to be on the look out for is last minute cancellations where they automatically rebook passengers on the different PNRs onto different flights.

Anyone have any recent experience on how long the wait is to have a change to a OW Reward re-ticketed ? Made a change on Tuesday through the call centre, called back today to follow up (got through to Hobart) and they sent it to the ticketing queue again, assured me it would be ticketed shortly, but currently still waiting for the magic email….

I made a change on 12 Aug. Called around the middle of the day. There was an issue with recalculating taxes, so she offered to call me back. Got the call back around 6pm to make the extra payment and the tickets were emailed around 7:25pm.
Don't know if it made a difference that my OWA is quite simple (only 5 flights and using QF, BA and JL).

FYI , there has been release of domestic North American American Airlines business/first "U" reward seats available on QFF site in the last 2 days.
Mostly reflects short to medium distance services on the east and west coasts on the period mid may 2024 to mid July 2024 .
eg LAX to SEA, LAX - PDL , SEA-ORD , ORD - New York airports - not every day but on a lot of days .
Most had availability for at least 2 seats.
Prior to today , the availability in this period was very low.
Good Hunting !

Thanks.

Noticed that after the last timetable change (winter to summer) there’s a whole bunch of USA domestic short hauls that have opened up for travel in the next few weeks.

Might be handy for anyone travelling but would like to optimise flights or routings.

On 31 August, replaced 4 flights with 3 new flights with Fiji call centre. Finished call at 2:30pm. Waited nervously and monitoring flights every hour or so, in case flights disappear (which has happened back in November when I lost flights and had to find new flights. This was before Qantas made some improvements such as [email protected]). Lo and behold, at 7:30pm on the same night, the new tickets arrived by email.

My flights (7 flights) are for this October and I kept monitoring this forum from January until there were almost no loss of flights reported by other members that I felt confident enough to make more changes.

On hindsight, I should have asked the same question that you are now asking but earlier and I would have made my changes earlier and caught more new flights that were released.

Well done Qantas. Better late than never.

Looks like im going to need to use that email. Changes made last tuesday, no new eticket or deduction of points/taxes. Called back Thursday and actually had to make one further minor change that the consultant got wrong on the first call. Advised ticket would be emailed in 24 hours. Now Saturday with still no points/taxes deduction or new eticket

Had the experience (again) that couldn't book all the flights I wanted online because the multi-city tool does not allow you to add more than 6 flights. Then once calling the call centre could not find some of the flights that were showing online - these were QF business flights in busisness from benaglore and singapore in June.

Gave up and booked the flights I could only and will call to get the others added.

FYI there seems to have been a bunch of QF business flight availability open up from Melbourne and Sydney direct to SIngapore in late Feb/early March in the last couple of days.

The flight that seems to have been causing the issue online is Singapore -> Tokyo (HND) arriving 0445 then Tokyo (HND) -> San Francisco at 1750 on the same day as arrival.

I can't see way this connection wouldn't be allowed and seemed like I would've been able to book it over the phone, does anyone know why it causes issue online?

Did you try the multi-city tool? As well as straight up SIN-SFO? It might be married segments or other revenue control.

Did you have any other connections in the USA immediately after arriving? The tool will not allow more then three flights to be booked on the same day.
