One World Emerald luggage allowance rules on the OW website suggests extra 20kg if allowance is weight based

MH J = 40kg plus OWE = 60kg?

MH does not say anything about OWE allowances. Wondering if the OWE rules are sticky across OW airlines?

You're not really wondering that are you? ;)
Unfortunately yes
Rang MH yesterday to regarding a J booking due to seat selection issues (wont allow me to select a vacant seat in seatmap)
and also asked in passing:
"BTW whats my luggage allowance"
"40kg"
"Dont I get extra 20kg as I am one world emerald"
"Are you an enrich member?"
"No I am qantas"
"sorry sir the luggage allowance as stated on your booking is 40kg"

Ah . A bit slow today on Australia Day. Hot no speeding, boozy = sluggish/

The immediate issue is that I will have 55kg. I’ve never travelled MH with amounts heavier than 20 odd kg

The agent has no idea what he or she is talking about. It's 40kg for any Jo/Joe with an extra 15kg for Sapphire and 20kg for Emerald.

Yes you and I and most other OWE knows that. However we can’t tag the bags. I’m hoping that checkin will know that too

In my experience, they do, without question. Any problems, just show them the oneworld Emerald benefits page on the oneworld site.

MH is the airline whose ticketing agents thought that in order to change an MH flight on a oneworld fare product, I had to talk to SQ.
