I am looking to book a one way J class JASA BNE-SIN in April (special available) so I get the points and status credits. And buy the return as a normal Y ticket. My query is do I need to make 2 separate bookings? The JASA and the Y return as a standard one way SIN-BNE online booking? Is this the best way to do this?

Appreciate any advice

You will find the return flight in Y prices relatively expensively - often almost the same price as a return Y flight.

Would you be better booking a Y return and attempting a points upgrade (accepting that you may end up in Y in both directions and the SCs will be the discount Y SCs).

FWIW, i'd personally do the J on the return (overnight flight) and Y on the outbound (daylight arriving late evening). But the same pricing issue occurs.

From experience you will need to make two separate bookings.

If you go to SIN regularly (more than one per year), it may be better to book a return ex SIN as it's may be litle more ot even cheaper than a one-way.
