Will I need to look for off the shelf travel insurance?
Commencing my journey this April, I present about 3 probable complications.
  • I am in my mid 70s, fit, well and triple vaxed.
  • My card payment will be for about $850 in taxes. The fare is on points.
  • All CC travel insurance I can find is for return travel and I am only booking one way.

I looked at this a few yedars ago when we had FF points travel one way and paid the other. CC insurance was only valid after payment of either $500 or full price for travel originating and returning to Australia. Looks like you will have to take an independent insurance.

OK. Any recommendations?
I will need 12 month multi trip, including trips booked at any time during the cover. No return ticket involved, to be arranged at a later date.

It's been a couple of years now so lots has changed since we last used it, particularly with Covid. FWIW we used Medibank and RACQ.

Best to Google and see who offers the best options to suit your needs. Although a bit old, Choice has a review
