Hi all,

I arriving into Melbourne on SQ in J and need to transfer to a domestic VA flight. I arrive at 0720h and the next VA flight is 0830h. Possible with baggage? Will SQ give me a fast track for immigration? If I don't make the 0830h, I would need to wait until the next flight at 1150h. It's supposed to be my first day back at work so I'm trying to minimize being late to work

I was thinking of booking a flexi ticket so I could call VA just before boarding in Singapore to change it if we are delayed leaving Singapore.

Is an hour possible or madness? I don't want to have to fly Qantas at 0940h!

Considering that time of morning, MEL T2 is an absolute shambles, I doubt you will get through in time.
Customs line has been near Gate 10 recently.
This doesn't include the queue after collecting baggage.

Not saying the connection can not be made, but way too tight for me (though I am conservative on these matters).

I have successfully done this a few times. Used Smart Gate to speed up the process. If you have something to declare then that will slow you down considerably.
As you are Plat book the 1150 and if you make it just use fly ahead.

Concur with the fly ahead suggestion, why have the worry!
