Interesting experience this morning on the way to MEL. Turned on the tablet once the seatbelt sign had gone out and quickly realised I hadn't put it on to flight mode.

As I went to rectify it my computer found no less than 8 available WiFi devices available.....

Oops

What sort of aircraft? You should try it on an EK777, the J class remote controls are wifi based. Wifi APs output a maximum 4 watts EIRP, most will never be near that level of power emission and its likely the APs in the plane were phones or hotspots left on which are often sub 1 watt EIRP.
