Yeah. I need to bookmark that. I've used it before and then don't remember to go looking for it again.

I`ve flewn WY Business Class many times. The old and new apex,
To me is it one of the best seats/cabin.
On some long haul flights like MUC, FCO, HKT and KUL uses WY now 737max with recliners.
Potentially maybe also on other routes.
I would defenetly choose QR.

I'm a bit late to the party on this thread. I flew WY earlier in the year MNL-MCT-MNL. The Apex suites are great. Probably my favourite J seat. Food was decent but not outstanding. Wines in J were very underwhelming and I was left pretty cold by the service on both flights. It was perfunctory without any real attention to detail (e.g. no proactive top ups) and no personalisation, banter or particular interest in any of the passengers other than taking orders and bringing food.

Muscat Airport is sensational and the WY lounge is a stunner.

Hi all,
following the recent webinar, I'm currently looking at Business Class flights to Rome flying via Southeast Asia with Oman Air (out via Manilla, back via Jakarta). Even flying in and out of Sydney with Qantas, plus a side trip to Cairo, the fares are very reasonable. The Qantas status credits, points and price make it even more attractive. I'm curious to know if any AFF have had any recent experience with Oman Air and whether they would recommend them.
thanks
brad

Friend of mine flew BKK-MCT last month. Blown away by the apex suites! Lounges great, food fine. The champagne was chilled.

I've recently flown MCT-CGK on an Oman Air 787 in J and the experience was great. The food was very similar to QR, and I'd even argue the mezze selection was better ;). The staff were attentive, the temperature was comfortable and the plane/toilets were clean and stayed that way throughout the flight. I'd certainly fly them again.

I haven't been on one of their 737s for quite a while so I can't comment on that.

I used Oman Air twice in very recent years to fly from Manila to the UK and back from a European port.

WY has occasional sales, so subscribe to its email updates.

The business class return fare from Manila was exceptional value at A$3,200 to $3,500 if my memory is on the ball.

I lack expertise in rating food but thought the selection, presentation and most importantly taste was terrific. The latter is subjective.

Staff were very, very good. They are Omani males plus Filipinas, a smattering of other nationalities such as Ukrainians and an occasional Omani making the female complement.

The Apex suites were outstanding, given I always had a window seat. Direct aisle access and for my needs sufficient storage space, and about as comfortable a bed as one can have on an aircraft.

As someone else suggested, the entertainment options were a let down. On one flight I couldn't get the system to work properly.

I didn't experience any delays so don't know how WY handles these. I have read 'not well'.

The limited daily (or on some routes, less than daily) schedules are a potential negative since IIRC it's only on the MCT-LHR-MCT route where there's a 'double daily' on some days of the week.

Haven't ever flown QR so can't comment.
