Has anyone flown Oman Air and QR long-haul in business and can give a comparison of the overall experience?

I'm a QR regular but would like to try Oman, but need to be convinced it’s going to be compatible.

Can't say I've flown WY, but on their 787s, they use the same Apex suites as JAL, but note that some flights to MCT out of KUL are on a 737 with recliners so be careful. The lounge in MCT looks pretty good too.

QR's QSuite is a nice product, but it's something of a lottery whether you get them. J on the 787 is pretty squeezy notwithstanding the suite doors. But there's caviar, and their lounges in DOH, SIN and BKK are great.

yes years ago I flew Oman air business regionally and it was awful..

I have flown QR business a lot, so much so that I was willing to look at Omsn just for the hell of it. The old QSuite switch lottery is much less of an issue these days now they’ve got more aircraft after their airbus dispute came to an end.

Oman’s apex suites are fantastic… more like a first class suite. Service was fine, food was ok… on par with a reasonable ME3 offering, but nothing memorable in terms of presentation.

If you want to try something different, give them a go, it’s always fun to try something new.

Drat - Oman don’t serve the Iberian Peninsula which is where I want to depart from to come back home. QR serve both Lisbon and Malaga which are options for me

Have to see just how much I want to try something new.

My travel agent has told me or reminded me that Oman may partner with QR on certain routes. But it would still be a QR flight X Lisbon if that was the case.😊

My only issue with Oman is the inflight entertainment, way too focused on US stuff, imo.

Music selections not great either, of course, imo.

I like the seats, food offerings, again, imo, good.

It has been a few years since I have flown Qatar, so I can’t really comment on them.

Given the choice, I'd probably choose QR on most days. Hard product wise there isn't a huge difference, although I prefer the Q-Suite. Soft product wise, it depends on the crew. You can have good and not so good on either airline, although WY are perhaps a little more consistent as they don't seem to scour the world so much for their staff.

When it comes to ground handling, I think QR is much better than WY at their hubs in the ME. WY can be a little like the wild west at MCT, especially when it comes to boarding (a free for all), and their lounge is rather glitzy but nothing special IMO.

For me it would depend on how much cheaper WY were for my journey.

Are they full width foot rest on all seats in that picture? Not a cubbyhole? that’s a very big plus for me. . IFE I’m not fussed about.

yeah that’s what I remember about the regional flight I took years ago. A free for all and sitting in a very hot bus while they sorted out the free for all jammed everyone on. Not a happy memory but I’m willing to forgive and forget.

i’ll report back on the fare differences when I get them.

Oh yeah… Alex suites are full length, forward facing, full width all the way to the feet..no cubby holes.

The window suites are slightly longer, about 7 foot long. And completely private.

I reckon it’s the best business class seat out there, puts plenty of first class seats to shame.

They’re not popular with airlines because they take up too much real estate :(
