Agree. The apex suites are practically first class standard anyway - especially the window seats. Super wide and 7 foot long.

Unfortunately on the days I’m looking there are no business awards available, only ‘first class’ from MCT to London… and charged at F rates

As expected and alluded to above, the MCT-LHR leg didnt credit to QFF automatically
I put in an online claim which was rejected saying no record of flight
Submitted e-ticket and boarding pass by email yesterday
This morning, receive email to confirm crediting ORC i.e F SCs and points for both WY outbound legs
If QFF happen to notice that they had already credited me the BKK-MCT leg in J, I will take the loss of the bonus 100 SCs graciously

Yes. I was in 10A on the B787 (frontmost in biz cabin behind the studio cabin) and it seemed more than 7' ! I had a look at the studio seats in front and I'm so glad my upgrade bid didn't come through. Zero effective diff that I could see, except doors and maybe more space to put stuff.

And confirmed there are no overhead bins in the studio cabin.



No air vents though. We roasted in 46 degrees on boarding at MCT and while we idled on the apron.

There is no more WY F lounge. It closed and some of the space taken over by J lounge and rest is still vacant AFAIK
Even when it was open it was for F pax only, top tier WY status holders didn’t have entry

Just completed my return J flights CDG-MCT, MCT-BKK, both on Deamliners; 11A this time.

Much the same experience as the outbound MCT-LHR.

CDG-MCT

* Huge legroom - you have the standard bed length plus the length of the alley-way out to the aisle. Bedding provided on the 6hr day trip, but no amenity kits.



PDB choice of Champagne, mint/lemon drink (or both); dates and Arabic coffee.



* Meals good; service just lacking the final bit of polish of the ME3. But wine top-ups proactive and the FA looking after me knew the wines available.



Modern European - lamb. It was tough.



Rocky road with rose syrup.

European menu. Soup



Angus short rib. Fell apart - delicious.



Cheesecake.



* Downside on all WY wide body flights - wifi. Have to buy; its expensive and very slow. WY should be embarrassed to offer this.

The Iran disriptions were a later worry but did note that Oman is south of the Straits, WY kept flying even during the missile phase and Oman was never designated "do not travel"

However, it wasnt a surprise to receive an email a month out saying I'd been downgraded to standard business, due to aircraft change.

Spoke to Oman rep on phone who said Id need to go the WY desk in MCT mid-trip to arrange the refund in fare difference

Have you had any success with a refund. We were bumped from business studio to economy. But with the flight being booked through Qantas awards, the process of some form of restitution has been less than satisfactory.
