For anyone who can recall the nightmare that was the old Brisbane International Terminal building, the axe is finally going to work on the other side of the field. That terminal was only supposed to be a temporary building but we had to endure it for far, far too long. It was actually even substantially extended at one point.

Remember it well.Arrived back from Bali with a large carryon filled with Lombok pottery.Refused all offers of help from the FAs.
Carrying it down the stairs from a 747 to the tarmac was an effort.
Yes-old BNE terminal,QF,Bali,747-it was a long time ago!

In my early (<1980) FIFO for a FRENCH URANIUM COMPANY near Georgetown QLD, I used to commute from "Old BNE" to TSV, then catch a company charter. I always remember the looooong taxi to/from the active RWY. Not missed.

I remember that old shed on Lomandra Drive as a munchkin. Always used to wonder why we had to board our aircraft using stairs when every other international airport we travelled to (including an at-the-time reasonably satisfactory MNL) had jetbridges?

Remember the non-digital boarding signs at the gate: the agents there had to select the correct plastic panels of airline code, digits for the flight number and destination, then reach up high to slot the panels under the gate sign.

Interantinal? Why dont the mods fix that title

A bit OT, but Interantinal may be the most common misspelling of International. When I googled it, out of curiosity, there were about 47,100 results, including:

Carmens Interantinal School of Cosmetology

Prestige Services Interantinal Inc-Karl’s Catering
Milano Interantinal filmFestival
Perfect Interantinal Freight Co
Ecms O B Ningbo B B Interantinal
Globalink Interantinal Inc
GT Interantinal Corperation (sic)
Interantinal BioGenesis

Sounds like I should be glad I never had the pleasure of experiencing the terminal.

It has a copy, albeit slightly modernized, just down the road - OOL

Not related to the old BNE International Terminal directly but anybody who used it back in the day and was a regularly flyer out of BNE would probably have gotten on a few 'BPA' flights to go to regional towns. I was on a first name basis with a few of the pilots on the runs I'd do regularly. You would fly up on the assurance your 'gear' would be up on the following days flight only to get it 3 or 4 days latter due to load limits. What a great name 'Bush Pilot Airways' .....
