Next to that is the dining room.So to our dinner.Mrsdrron started with the foie gras and I with a lobster salad. But first an amuse bouche
1566593722961.jpeg.1566593751395.jpeg.

1566593775033.jpeg.
Then another complimentary dish-shrimp with a tiny bit of kim chee.
1566594072633.jpeg.
For mains mrsdrron had the salmon which was the best salmon either of us have ever had.Truely meltin the mouth.I had the lamb which was very good but the star of the dish was eggplant which was fantastic.
1566594145695.jpeg.1566594170175.jpeg.

For desserts mrsdrron had the maple cream in choux pastry and I had the rhubarb and alder ice cream-a little tart.

Looks like we may well cross paths in PEI as we are catching up with our Canadian based daughter firstly in Reykjavik on 2 September and then after a cruise to Montreal, PEI from the 20th staying at the Sydney Boutique Inn.

Sorry we will be well gone from PEI.Leaving on the 7th.Yhis trip was also meant to follow a cruise from Reykjavik to Quebec but we cancelled when it became a maiden voyage.Reports say we didthe right thing.

Will particularly look forward to your PEI posts as we are just winging it relying on daughters previous visit to see friends at Halifax.

Those main meals look like the real deal !! :D

The food here has been excellent. The salmon is definitely the best salmon we have had.Coming close would be the lobster entree and today's lobster roll.My Gazpacho today also probably the best I have had

Lovely flower shots.

Though I was actually trying to photograph a hummingbird.
But other flowers.

The water is very clear.

One of the Virtuoso benefits here was a complimentary 3 course lunch with a glass of wine each.Mrsdrron started with 6 oysters and I the gazpacho.
1566692174492.jpeg.1566692194757.jpeg.
The gazpacho was the best I have had.
For mains we both had the lobster roll.
1566692265058.jpeg.
It was excellent and the lobster was cooked to perfection.Moist and tasty.
We both had the rice pudding to end.
1566692363096.jpeg.1566692380429.jpeg.
It was fine but to be honest the desserts did not live up to the same standard as the other dishes.
Mrsdrron had an Italian Pinot grigio whilst In had a very good Chilean Carminere.

We both then had a nanny nap awakening in time for drinks on the lawn.I was quietly sipping on my G&T(with a local St.Laurent gin) when I noted the humminbird was right in front of me.He also stayed there for a while.

1566693279352.jpeg.1566693294590.jpeg.

The amusee bouche was salmon and mushroom.
1566693380940.jpeg.
For an appetiser mrs drron had the lobster and I had the sweetbread though the waitress initially forgot the sauce.
1566693459385.jpeg.1566693477173.jpeg.
I then had the salmon that mrsdrron had had the first night whilst she had the striped bass-cooked perfectly.
1566693538530.jpeg.
For desserts she had the strawberry and I the Maple cream.
1566693583051.jpeg.1566693604938.jpeg.

Mrsdrron had a glass of the pinot grigio whilst I had a half bottle of a Mendoza malbec which was oh so nice.

The time had come for us to leave the Manoir. But first breakfast.Mrsdrron had the Pancakes and I the omelette with confit duck and mushrooms.
1566694932006.jpeg.1566694979357.jpeg.
Both different but nice.
In summary a recommended stay. The room is sub par but the food and service really good.We had planned this stay as a mid trip rest stay and it suited us fine,
However there are lots of activities here.Non motorised water sports are coimplimentary-kayaks,canoes,paddle boards and pedal boats.A party boat for hire,
There are fly fishing lessons, yoga and walks.Would be excellent for those with more mature kids though on the Friday night there were lots of young children arrived with their parents-it is the last weekend of school holidays.
The food is excellent and the stays with dinner and breakfast are reasonable value for excellent food. The Virtuoso inclusions were a bonus.

Saturday and off to Montreal. We chose to go via route 212 oest rather than highway 10.An interesting drive with a few lakes on the first half. Some random scenery.

Now as we approached Montreal I thought we should follow 112 to the Pont Victoria to get into Montreal. However mrsdrron thought it prudent to follow the GPS which led us to a bridge that was closed.Took a little while cruising the less salubrious parts of Montreal to finally get on to the Pont Victoria.Good views of the St.Lawrence and Montreal.

We arrived at the IC Montreal about 1415.Check in time in Canada is 1600 so no surprise our room was unavailable. Also there were no suites for an upgrade so offered 10000 p0ints or $C100 compensation + 2 drinks at the bar.We were allowed to wait in the lounge.
At 1515 mrsdrron went to check if the room was available. It wasn't.She then received vouchers for an upgrade to the restaurant for breakfast.
At 1600 it still wasn't available so another 2 complimentary drinks.Possibly unfortunately the room was available about 5 minutes later. ;)

So the room.
