OK, haven't been overseas for some time due, you know, global armageddon, so what does this message mean?Manage my booking says 4A allocated, but can not print boarding pass. QF Metal, BNE-SIN.

Ah OK. And yes, final destination for 24hours.

Thanks. Is it a Singapore thing? I have done the online SG Arrival card

Can confirm that it is the international vaccine certificate check at QF check-in. Did CBR-SIN on 10/08 and I got the same message when I checked in via the QF app. The check-in agent also checked for the online SG arrival card email barcode, to match the passport number

It’s been the same for every international flight I’ve done this year.. staff need to confirm either vaccine or various country associated app completion/paperwork. Very rare if not impossible to do a fully online international check in these days.

Vaccination proof is probably a thing pretty much everywhere.

I had zero requests for vaccination certificates going to the UK in June, transiting in Dubai, entering France, Switzerland aand Italy, and the reverse trip. I believe Singapore is more of an exception.

I had vax status checked for entry to Germany at the end of May. Ground travel across borders didn't need a vaccine check in EU at that time, but flights probably did need a check.
I suspect UK removed the requirement very early on.
Germany removed it about 10 June. Australia removed in about 4 July.

you're right not "pretty much everywhere" as I said. but I'd also guess more than just singapore.

Was able to OLCI both directions on MH flights last week - SYD - KUL
Similarly, returning to Oz is ok. Well, at least SIN-PER on QF. Able to get BP on the app but still needed to print out a paper one at the airport. Fortunately “early checkin“ at the Jewel opens at noon.

Edit: also, I mentioned earlier, BA let you upload your Oz issued PDF vax certificate prior to checkin for countries that still require it eg NL, DE etc and then OLCI works fine.

Nonetheless it seems to be qf policy to not issue BP for olci or at remote stations (eg when checking in with another airline for connecting flight).

I had to argue my way into F lounge when the door man (not Nestor for once) demanded to see a boarding pass. I pointed out that not only had qf not allowed ek to issue me with it despite being checked in, but no one at syd transfer desk. There is just a sign to go to gate. But we all know the gate is only manned just before boarding. Fortunately common sense prevailed and the lounge staff upstairs were happy to print my boarding pass.

The most frustrating thing at the moment is that AC and UA have no problems printing QF BP, while AA is not able to...what an alliance!

Same experience here. SIN-SYD QF82, able to do OLCI and got the BP on QF app. No one checked vax certificate ex-SIN.

yea, I had to print one out at the Early Check-in at Jewel.

On 14/08, only 3 or so of the x number of machines in Jewel Early Check-in worked. The person next to me couldn't get his booking to work on the machine. So a staff had to intervene. I prefer to rock up to the counter to do the check-in formalities. I prefer to talk to a human rather than do things on the machine. However, funnily, this time, the lady behind the counter at SIN told that there is no counter today, only the check-in machines. But as only 3 or so machines worked, SATS had to open a counter and the very same lady who said "no counters today" was sitting behind the counter checking in pax.

Jewel opens at noon.
It was 1 PM on 14/08. Unless that day was an exception and Jewel Early Check in opens normally at 12 ?

QF did this too on their QF app. When it's time for your trip, a button appears on the screen to upload vax evidence. I uploaded the international vax certificate I downloaded from Medicare.

The website is now saying 1pm but I’m pretty sure it was saying noon when I was there (although I rocked up around 2 pm for QF72 that was rescheduled to 19:30 that day).

I was HLO so just popped my passport into the kiosk and it printed the BP. The ladies there said that they had to also stamp the BP to get through immigration.

QF desk checkin wouldn’t have opened until 3 hrs prior.

Has the SATS early checkin lounge reopened? It was still closed a few weeks ago.

They also need to swipe your passport into the reader.
ADL - PER - SIN, many years ago now, couldn't get past the gate in ADL, had to go to the service desk, this was pre covid, after they swiped my Aust passport, it was 2013, the green light and beeper came on, and I was on my way to PER.
ADL - PER - SIN was on the same one PNR.

Does the qf app now accept intl covid vax certs issued outside Australia? It didn't when I tried some months ago.

Please not this is out of date. Badly out of date! Singapore do not require proof of vaccination as per 1 April 2023 as per the Qantas website. Tried to upload a screenshot but that is not possible
