Looking at flying to Naha in late November from either Tokyo or Osaka return but the schedules seem to stop late October. Can anyone explain why the airline agents pull up blanks post October? Oneworld would be cool but budget could work.

It's a funny thing about domestic flights within Japan that Australians would find unimaginable.

With domestic flights in Japan, you are only able to purchase fares ~3 months from the present date. It's quite odd but that is just the way they do it.

I flew HND-CTS over a year ago on Skymark and the best thing to do was purchase the fare I wanted exactly 3 months before the date of departure, as that was the first time it was available for purchase and therefore I could snag up some "web-only" price fares.

Jetstar Japan flies to Naha from Tokyo and Osaka at prices that were somewhat unimaginable before LCC came into Japan. Not OW but noticed you are SG.
