So, another change to the guest program. As gold (or other status) will now only have that level for 12 months.

Very sad. Change after change recently and after Melbourne losing the 380, not sure why people would travel with them soon.

I used to recommend them. Emirates, Singapore and Qatar look like the go.
I may even consider Qantas (urgh!) For business. Let's spend those airmiles quick before they go bust.
 
At least where the previous upgrades have just been flat out bad. Etihad Gold can now use the Business class lounge at AUH.

Silver flying economy use the Al Reem Lounge in T1. Gold flying economy use the Al Reem Lounge in T1. Platinum flying economy use the first class lounge in T3. Business any tier use the business lounges in T1 or T3. First any tier use the first class lounge in T3.
 
Anyone know if this devaluation will affect the miles needed to redeem Virgin domestic flights?

No, shouldn't do. Etihad does randomly change the mileage levels for partner airline redemptions occasionally (like they did for SN redemptions earlier this year), but that is completely unrelated to these changes.

Thanks Matt that's good to know as I have a few dom flights that I would like to redeem given the low points required.
