What is the point of creating a separate branding if it dosnt seem to be marketed in anyway ? Or do I miss out on Jetconnect TV and press ads because they dont fly to ADL ?

pssst - Jetconnect flies to ADL.

I don't know for sure, but my understanding is that Impulse has followed the 717 aircraft, hence the Jetstar link before the delivery of the A320 aircraft for Jetstar.

The 717s are now operated by (and on the AOC of) National Jet Systems. The former Impulse AOC is now Jetstar.

Thanks Kiwi Flyer. Hmmm, in showing my ignorance I think I just proved my own point :!:

Hi Skyring,
Jetconnect crews are some of the best crews in the QF group. They also are told this by QF management indicated by the number of CS messages that they receive I guess.
If flying from SYD you are almost guaranteed the 737-400. If you are flying in Y then take row 5 which is the first row of Y. This will give you the same ptich as the J cabin, you will get the DVD player which you can then place on the seat back tray and have the seat tray available for food etc. Row 6 will also give you the DVD player but not the extra room. Flying out of WLG the planes are weight restricted so you should be able the have the middle seat blocked out, asthey cannot have a full Y cabin, unless travelling with someone, that QF seem to offer their higher status travellers.
At the moment there are "I" fares discount Business Class available on the QF site, well last time I checked from the NZ side. If you do go the J cabin seats 1D & 1F have more leg room but you get the smaller fold out trays.

Ahh yes, now the grey matter is recalling the tender process they went through for the operation of the 717s.

Yep, Jetstar put in a tender to keep operating the 717's for Qantas but 'lost' to NJS. Rumour around has it that QF used Jetstar's bid to help screw NJS down on price, rather than NJS winning the tender outright in the first round...

Now that is not unique to the airline industry  .
