Odd SQ crew member experience

Male and Female inflight auditors are denoted by the gold trim in their uniforms. Males wear a gold tie, females wear a different uniform (not a kebaya) with a gold scarf. It is unlikely that this bloke was an auditor though - I have been on a few flights which have been 'audited', and the said auditor formed part of the service team and did not 'kick back', as it sounds like this guy has.

Perhaps it was a new crew in training - or in fact he was just a 'dud' who took his rest breaks a little too out in the open?

Maybe he was employed by SQ to show staff how the "other" airlines do it ! But perhaps he was testing if this electronic device thing does actually interfere with the planes control systems or not. I did read somewhere SQ will soon be allowing pax to make calls inflight....."testing ,testing, one two three testing"

In a MEL-SIN flight on a non-US carrier that was no where near US shores??? Maybe an AFP marshal?

More than likely a Singapore Air Marshall from their police unit if not a check FA.
