Hi everyone

This landed in my inbox today (see attached screenshot).

Is Qantas really giving away 100,000 points to people or is this a scam email? It seems odd because it also mentions some discounted flights available however the flights are offered ex London and Im in Melbourne!

Thoughts?

Thanks Peter

This isn't real.

Consider:
  • If Qantas was sending this to you, why would they have acquired only 100 tickets? They're the airline, they can give away as many as they like.
  • It references a research flight from November... 2019!!! Qantas Flew Non-stop from London to Sydney in Less Than 20 Hours
  • I don't know what level you are now, but why would they give you Platinum and 100,000 points, for doing nothing?

Out of curiosity, what is the sender's email address?

I don’t seem to be on your sender’s spam list, as nothing received.

If you have a bit of time to kill, why not see what the Manila Call Centre has to say? 🤭

Add to that the dodgy grammar/format:
  • extra spacing between the first two lines
  • Centenary sale fare ex-LHR quoted as $699 instead of sterling
  • "arrived to" SYD after "going out" of LHR

Well that was amusing.... definitely spam... but hey I'll take CL and 20k points?! :p

I saw this on another forum and the email address was something ridiculous like Richard@abx blah DUH
