NZ metal, *A Gold benefits, earn VA status

Flying MEL > AKL on Air NZ, booked via corporate travel. I have KFEG / *A Gold but would prefer to earn VA status (i'm 50 short from Gold).

Is there a way I can use *A Gold for the lounge/priority but earn status with Velocity using Air NZ metal?

It's a code share flight but my itinerary is strictly all NZ flight numbers.

There’s no way to earn VA status credit when you book NZ flight number. It’s only possible when you book them as VA flight number.
