As in my profile, I hold VA PS, and in here, on this branch, I mumbled about Oneup a few days back... they used the word "Cancelled" my bid!
But I had a look on the schedule, the 767 still flies on the date of my flight, SYD to AKL, at the same time...
Couldn't they say "Mate, your bids too low" instead of using the schedule change excuse.
And they didn't use the word rejected my bid, they had to Cancel my bid.
Not happy, will still fly NZ, but not at all happy.
Will have a paid D class flight with NZ next year, so thats a small consolation, but still, not happy!

This should be in the Air New Zealand section.

I didn't get an email stating in depth why I got a cancelled Oneup.
On the Oneup email, it said Oneup Cancelled, schedule change and that was it.
No separate email.
I have 2 D paid fares coming up, will be very angry if this became a 320, ie no D or J classes.
Hopefully yours will continue to be 767 or 777.
SYD to AKL is my main routing.

Go to "make a new booking" at your same day and time.
If your flight gets to AKL at 8.50pm instead of 8.45pm that's it.
That was the tip in my case.
Checked online with new booking screen and yep, 320.
777 instead of 767 I would accept but not 320.
Ok that's it from me on this topic.
Hard done by, yes. Indeed.

.... Can some Mod move this rant, which has nothing to VA/Velocity

As for your situation: Stuff happens :? I'll be fuming with VA if they change my confirmed J seats from an A330 to B737, but it's a slightly different anyway given I didn't bid for the upgrade...

If you have a J booking (and they swap to an a320) you should be given options to accommodate you in the correct class via a flight change, or maybe re-route via MEL (which has a daily 777) or a downgrade with compensation, or a full refund.

However in this case you have a Y ticket, and had a OneUp bid (which NZ was under no obligation to accept). You're still going to get to your destination in the class you paid for.

I had to look at the seat map but yep, Ive flown the NZ 320 before and it was comfortable. Had row 3 by memory and the only drama was they had to reset hubbys IFE.

There are some works deluxe seats on this plane, can you bid to upgrade to those?

Hardly worth the trouble when you can actually pay $170 or so to confirm them using AirNZ.com.

Too late when I found out.
Works Deluxe were taken up by the tine I got on, probably by the C or D class pax.
After all, only 8 seats on 320 can be Works Deluxe.
Next 2 NZ flights I have are paid (by myself) D class. 777 and 767.
They would probably change me off the wide planes to nsrrows by then anyway.
