China is using North Korea as a tool to provoke the west.
I suspect that Trump actually lacks the Gonads to respond in spite of the characteristically ego driven diatribical prose.
The west is weak and rapidly becoming weaker , with social indulgence triumphant over national survival . ( Hear Violins ,smell smoke )

Chinese Imperialism presents ( arguably?? ) as the greatest threat to peace with western values since WWII
They hold a full hand and the clock is ticking…..

There won't be a world war over North Korea. But Kim Jong Dumb needs to be careful his actions don't result in North Korea being wiped off the map.......

The problem being that it would largely destroy South Korea too, at least economically.

A shock like that would do incalculable damage to the global economy too.

Everyone knows that so it's all posturing for the respective domestic audiences (Kim in Nth Korea and Trump in the USA).

I hope the airline will give me a points refund if I have to cancel a J award to Tokyo next year due to nuclear war.

Maybe the US could get a Bin Laden result on this lunatic.

The problem is that there is no known resistance to the current person in charge. By that I mean that there is no movement in the country to overthrow him. And even if they did could they hope to run the country?

If the country did collapse like East Germany then Sth Korea would need huge assistance to immediately feed their northern cousins. The big issue would then be to deprogram (un-brainwash?) the survivors and integrate them into 21st society.

Then the next issue is who occupies the country side. If there is a reunified Korea with an American ally the Chinese are going to feel uncomfortable about having the USA on their door step.

The matter is incredibly complicated with so many potential triggers for either limited or unlimited conflict that we need at least one mature party involved.

Nor is the overall structure of the DPRK government particularly clear - if you take out KJU, which general is left in charge of the nukes?

They could always move the DMZ north...
