Actually this is old news but couldn't see it reported here.Read it in the JAL in flight magazine the yesterday the WSJ had an article on JAL's rise from bankruptcy-now has the best profit to revenue ratio of any airline-unfortunately that article behind firewall. But another-
JAL sets start date of new nonstop Tokyo-San Diego service ? Japan Today: Japan News and Discussion

JAL has set the date for the launch of its new nonstop service between Tokyo (Narita) and San Diego as Dec 2, 2012, flying four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This will be a joint business service with fellow oneworld airline member and joint business partner American Airlines (American).
JAL will also add two more weekly round-trip flights between Tokyo (Narita) and New Delhi, making the route a daily service from Oct 28, 2012. To accommodate more high-yield corporate demand, JAL will change the aircraft deployed on the route to the larger 777-200ER which also offers Premium Economy service. The wide-body 777-200ER will initially be used on three of seven flights a week from Oct 28 to Nov 30, until the full switchover from the 787-8 currently assigned to the route.

Not too bad timings of flights. They also had news of a new commercial tie up with BA which has now started-maybe QFi is irrelevant?:p
