Y E S !

Good to see that Bain & Co are not gouging on fees (yet).

How much would QFF charge in 'fees & taxes' for a business seat points redemption from HNL to SYD? That is assuming that the 'hens' teeth do exist'.

Certainly not $44.78. VFF points = 70K.

Pleasantly surprised that every date I tried (over the phone) had 2 or more business seats available for redemption from early to late Feb 2022 onwards (dates I checked). HA schedule 5 days a week not the 7 of pre-Covid (yet).

With ANZ offering 30% bonus, if one prefers KF points they will get ~10% more points if instead Transfer to VFF now and convert to KF later.

* assuming that the conversion or redemption rate is still going to be 1.55. cross fingers, VFF 2.0 hasnt shafted us yet :)

I am still wary of banking more points in KF at this stage. I know they have been extending expiry dates, but i have a lot of points with them already, i will need to do a lot of flying in the next 12-18 months and certain personal circumstances of mine + covid could continue to limit that. but I guess i could just buy lots of Garmin watches from the KF store --- ha.

Hard pass on moving any points to Velocity right now while everything is still so ‘up in the air’. Will hold warehouses points and reevaluate in May (next bonus offer season).

Just a warning to everyone for next time - don't transfer on the first day of a promotion. I transferred points at 10am on 1/11/21 from ANZ. And then they arrived to my Velocity account within a day or two dated 31/10/21 without the bonus points. I called ANZ and they said they could definitely see I transferred on the 1st and don't know why Velocity would back date them. They said to call Velocity.

I called Velocity and I am not sure if it's a communication problem or they don't believe me, but they won't accept the fact that I transferred them on the 1st. I have a transfer confirmation email from when I did the transfer dated 1st November and I can check my ANZ redemptions and it also shows it was dated 1st November. Anyway after 45 minutes on the phone, they said they will look into it further and call me back.

It's often because of time zones. Always wait until it's after midnight in the UK before this - I play it safe and make it after midnight in the USA

Good advice for pretty much any offer (other than 'activate' to get $X back on $CV spend) - that way you're covered for the time zone issue outlined in the post above as well as allowing time for human errors/negligence to be corrected.

Day 3 always appeals to me - not so long that I forget to do it and not too fast to still get caught in any 'mistakes'.

Personally I would wait until just before the end of the month and include the November spend as well rather than making two transfers and with some partners there are minimums so also risking not achieving the minimum transfer amount for the 2nd transfer.

When I say just before the end of the month, I mean a couple of days to avoid the timing issue that is experienced in @one9 example.

The exception of course is if you needed the points now rather than in four weeks to for VFF redemptions.

My ANZ Rewards transfer was almost as fast.

My Citibank on the other hand... says it may take up to a month. Find that very frustrating particularly when Amex and ANZ are sooo speedy. So those points will transfer (eventually) but no 20% bonus.

Just came here to whine....

I emptied my CBA balance (Sign up for CBA Ultimate card and some spend) and ANZ Rewards points. Both went through instantaneously. Both had an entry for 20% bonus and ANZ had an extra entry for the 10% bonus bringing it to 30%.

You should be ok, I just checked my citi/velocity transfer... Redeemed from citi 25nov, points+bonus credit date on velocity account 24nov. Can't be sure of the time of day that I did the transfer, but I don't think it was before 10:00am so the "backdating" I think is not GMT issue but the International Date Line.

The systems are so interlinked now that by the time I had completed my Amex transfer and logged into Velocity the points were already there…
Still waiting for mine after transferring on 30 November...
