How are you still seeing the seat map upon boarding?

I always get the error that it's under airport control.....

On boarding ~20 minutes before departure.

At 10 it's normally not avalable as you say.

That's why I typically take a screen shot.

Nice to see some sort of shadow in place on VA. Hopefully we will see more of it to compensate for some of the upcoming 'enhancements'.

IME that is completely incorrect.. I get a shadow about 30-40% of the time, and I don't travel at peak times of the golden triangle either...

There are shadows and there are SHADOWS ... this is neither as the B/E seats were not 'blocked'.

I gave up even hoping for a remote chance of a shadow on VA (and yes, i'm WP too).

Got very very sick of seeing the entire back half of the a/c with empty middle seats, yet a no-status member shoved in the middle seat next to me (BP placed in literature holder in front/sticking out).

Perhaps they've actually put some kind of courtesy block system in now with the new changes?

Actually, maybe they were blocked ... my WP number is in E/F, so it's possible they wwere available some, but not others.

i.e. Perhaps a "Red" would have seen the X's in those seats.

I flew SYD-BNE last week in 3D, with both 3E and 3F vacant. While 3A/B/C were occupied. That was nice!

All were occupied (not blocked) on the seat map beforehand. I can only guess 2 other pax either flew ahead, or missed their connection!

haven't had a WP shadow in a while, then on Monday evening, that changed.

I was on a window seat, the aisle seat PAX and I had both placed "stuff" in the vacant seat by the time the doors had closed.

They take the middle seat??? (I'm a window flyer, I couldn't think of anything worse).

I had row 4 to myself on QF then a couple of pax came up to the DEF side and one of them got sent back with the walk of a school kid that's just been told off

I get so annoyed when 3
B/E are allocated, but not in 4 and / or 5. Why does VA let it happen? Seriously thinking about choosing row 4 from now on.

Happened to us in row 3 earlier in the year cant remember going to where, maybe Perth-Darwin. Both platinum, hubby booked separately. They actually rearranged booking of whole of row 3 so it was 2 and 2.
Hostie said oh do you know each other?! ho ho

Now we book row three ourselves with a gap in the middle so one on aisle and one on window.
If they plonk someone in the middle i'm sure they would be happy to swap to window or aisle.

If someone self-seated in the middle seat I would tell them to s*d off and/or call the hostie.
