Not eligible for Black card

My 23 year old is an associate on my black card. He's very impressed with himself.

You are far too trusting. I don't have kids but there is no way in hell they will be getting cards in any way linked to me.

I had a partner card on my parents ANZ FF Visa when I was 16 and it was great. Taught me all about points and 15 years later here I am giving my mum a card on my account ;)

Does anyone know if its possible to apply for this card but request a lower limit ?

If ever my bank refuses something it's time for a new bank. Did it once years ago with ANZ, felt good when they said sorry we can't do that on your cc, I closed my accounts took several wads of cash then and there.

OK it was a pain in the backside but it was satisfying. Life is too short to not get satisfaction when dealing with banks.

Haha, love your attitude. Off topic, but when I was a student Optus denied me a contract many moons ago despite having adequate means to cover the measly monthly sum involved. I have refused to deal with them ever since. They mightn't miss my personal and business spend all that much, but it sure does make me feel better! ;-)

(NB: Of course I understand the why and how of a credit decision)

My Altitude Black card has a 95k limit which really upsets my partner as she has been offered zilch on Earth other than being advised of the points capping.

Wow $95K limit, impressive, how did you get that (in one hit or gradual rise?)

I had to apply to increase mine (currently $25K), once done I realised that it was a big hassle, and should have asked for more.

Cove - do pay an annual fee on it?

Yes I pay a fee on all of my cards so I don't draw special attention to any of my running credit cards. This one replaced a previous card. Have another one I use a lot that has a $100,000 limit for Krisflyer miles directly.
I guess I asked for a limit increase a while ago.

CDC
I was automatically upgraded without even asking from a basic Altitude visa/Amex combo, and my credit limit was and remains considerably less than $12000
I haven't asked for it to be increased but they have offered.

New applications seem to need a min of 18K.
Transfers from another WBC card allow a lower limit.

Looks like I will only keep this card in the short-term then ;)
Wouldn't be the first time.
Just apply grab the bonus then after 2-3 months piss off with a pro-rata refund of the annual fee and onto the next deal

I assume I will retain my SPG gold status even I cancel this credit card ?
