I'm a member of QF and right now I'm doing a fair bit of travelling in the US with American Airlines, while I am earning half points on the International legs, I'm not earning any points with domestic flights. Is this normal? I'm also so close in status points to reaching the next level I want to earn it while I'm tavelling to reap the benefits.

dang, probably something i should've looked into before I chose my flights. although AA were the cheapest option anyways.

Open an AA account online and credit the non-eligible flights to AAdvantage instead of QF. It may even be worth signing up for the Platinum Challenge.
