So, the idea of a non-travelling guest being able to come to the lounge and boarding gate is quite a novelty to me having mostly travelled elsewhere in the world where this isn't possible.
So with the school holidays in progress I decided to bring my wife and kids along to wave me off as I headed to Perth (and subsequently Karratha/ Offshore) for 4-5 weeks. I kind of expected that it wouldn't be possible in reality, but yep through security no problems and into the business lounge. We tucked into a far corner, my son glued to the window watching the planes (and me trying to explain and answer his questions, even though he did a pointless tier point run with me a week prior) and my daughter enjoyed picking through the food and drink selections, finished off with a glass of sparkling wine for the wife and eventually them all waving me off at the jetway. I'm not sure it's something we'd repeat, but it was a nice novelty considering that normally I head off to the airport alone.
