Non-revenue - someone, typically airline staff, who flys either for nix, or at a significant discount because they are staff.

Just out of interest how many non-revs would they fly between say SYD - LAX which would be scheduled? (I could understand unscheduled in the event of equipment failures)
I can certainly understand a few non-revs between SYD-MEL a week mainly positioning International A/C, but I can't understand why they wouldn't want to fill a plane with pax if it's going to be flying for 13+ hours....

Yes, clearly my 'time off' from things is driving me nuts.
I think your referring to "deadheading" or "paxing" which is when staff - generally cabin crew or pilots fly as passengers in order to meet their next flight.
