In December 2007 I had a handful of AA points which were expiring. I thought I'd redeem for the magazines but discovered they could only go to a US address. I decided to gift the subscriptions to a friend whom lives in Tx.

I didn't think about it any more after I received confirmation of subscriptions to

Magazine - Issues:
Home - 8
Newsweek - 53
Smithsonian - 12

This month I have 5,000 points expiry in one of my son's account. Not much can be done with that number of points so I contacted my Tx friend to see if he wants more magazines. He said that the original subscription lasted for three months after which he received a single page letter stating that future issues would not be sent. He didn't say anything at the time as they were free to him anyway.

Looking at the available subscriptions page now I notice that the original magazines are no longer available. Ended up signing him up for 6 other titles.

Has anyone else had any issues with fulfillment of AAdavantage magazine subscriptions?
