Saw a set of noise-cancelling headphones in the Aldi catalogue that look suspiciously like my pair of NoiseHush headphones:

Case and accessories are the same, and the headphones look very similar besides the name. Tempted to get a pair and compare with the NoiseHush. Might be a case of a single design being licensed under multiple brands.

I have been meaning to get a pair for ages... Are your Noisehush pair working well?

This special started last Saturday. My local Aldi doesn't have a lot of stock on these specials so maybe best to get in there asap. They are good on returns.

Probably worth mentioning that look the same and made in China does not always equal the same!

Very true. Took the risk and bought a pair at lunchtime. We'll see what they're like this weekend. Even if they last a year (and work well) I'll be happy.

The pair I bought on ebay (Bose) for $99 "refurbished" turned out to be a copy but that was 5 years ago and they still work just fine. I've used the real thing on some F flts, and I can't tell the difference.

Bought these for a uk trip and they work pretty well, noise cancelling is good. Downsides are your ears get quite warm and secondly the blue LED (signalling NC is on ) could light up a rather large restaurant. The lights were dimmed in the cabin and the massive blue light was emitting from my head over the wife. Her look of disapproval was priceless :)

Maybe you need a little round band aid over that little blue spot light; or a bod of 'whiteout'.

You could tape that over if that's the only issue

How do they perform on a plane ??

She hasn't flown with them yet. I bought them for her after she went on and on about how good the Etihad F headphones were.

Flying Emirates F in a few weeks so will do a side by side comparison.

My only issue with them is the over ear cup is a bit small for my big ears. Fine for lady ears. A review of them made a similar comment when comparing to some much more expensive Sennheiser's.

We've got a pair of those (well, the one's that Aldi had last year, assume they are the same), and I've got the Bose QC15 as well.

Taking the QC15 as a benchmark (and they are awesome IMHO), then the Aldi ones are no comparison. Sound quality is okay'ish, but noise cancelling just okay I would say. So for $40 you probably can't expect more nor get more, but they are no substitute for 'the real thing'. We bought them under the premise of "how bad can it be" and are not regretting it.
